I started working for Akins Excavating in the summer of 2001 at the age of 13. In 2006 I joined the Akins crew full time and over the years have progressed from a general laborer to the site foreman. I feel blessed that as of July 1st 2023 my wife Jessica and I are the proud owners of Akins Earthworks. We are excited for this stage of our lives and to see what the future brings. On a personal note Jessica our two children and I enjoy spending time in the local community, biking on the pumpkin vine, enjoying nature at Bonneyville Mills or grabbing a quick cone at Dips On The Vine. We spend a majority of our weekends enjoying our beautiful fiberglass pool and grilling in our backyard.

Ryan has been with us since January 2021. He will most commonly be found traveling from pool to pool, overseeing our pool maintenance program; he also has a key role in the pool installs. When pools slow in the the winter, Ryan has no problem jumping into a dump truck or plowing snow. He and his family are avid campers and enjoy traveling as a family.

Cody started as summer help while finishing his final year playing baseball at IU Kokomo. He joined the Akins team full time in May of 2022. Cody is becoming a very skilled operator, and has a work ethic that is hard to beat.

George has been a valued member of our team since April 2016. It would be hard to find a better equipment operator than George. He has a wealth of knowledge and is continuously growing that wealth, to ensure a job is completed correctly the first time. George and his significant other enjoy a Sunday cruise, time with their dogs and vacationing in rural locations.
